Just thought I could throw light on some of the elements in our society.
Introduction:
This has become the usual game play with those that are involved in the civil services. In the recent days, the Indian government has passed so many laws and rules, but has there been any rule for the civil servants those that are in charge of distributing of the basic commodities to the local public?
Body:
Throwing light on the ration shops and the gas agencies in Chennai and around, they make service a business for profiting their own needs and survival. There is a doubt if the state government is aware of the things that are happening with the local authorities. Many times, the poor localities are been bullied and threatened constantly by the distribution authorities who only focus on money making than in service. It is true that nothing can survive without money in the world today but first things fall first.
Affected parties:
Those that are below the poverty line depend mostly on the raw food supply that comes from the local service authorities. People who live on a daily wage find it a hard shell biting for their living. They completely have to depend on the food supply that bites their legs and slowly their throats. The worst are the Middle class categories, they neither fall under the line nor can they crawl up to be spendthrifts. They usually dwindle between the two and eventually end up with unhappiness and dissatisfaction. Through out their lives, they a live a life of dreams and when it is time to, they even die in their dreams.
Conclusion:
If corruption has its upper hand, why then are the laws made? It might seem very strange a question for us to ask but this is what the present scenario is. There could be so many other ways of exploitation happening but to exploit the poor with the basis of living is just not the way. Why don’t there be a rise in the tax for the luxury hotels, the bars and pubs and why not the rates for the imported are raised instead of raising the price values for soap, toothpastes and other basic consumables?
The action lies in the hands of the people who choose the government and in those who look at the government supplies as a service more than business. A service is done without expecting anything in return. Can service be service always?
